January, in Roman mythology, draws its name from Janus, the deity of doors, thresholds, looking back to the past and forwards, to the future. In this new quarter of 2024, we must acknowledge that BRICS continues to strive towards greater representation, more enriched engagements across the Global South, or global majority, as referred to in some circles.
The BRICS bloc stands at the threshold of even greater relevance, and
