The BRICS Health sector refers to the collaborative framework among the BRICS countries dedicated to strengthening public health systems, advancing universal health coverage, and promoting joint responses to regional and global health challenges.
Coordinated through the BRICS Health Ministers’ Meeting and supported by technical working groups, this cooperation focuses on key priorities such as communicable and non-communicable diseases, health systems strengthening, digital health, access to medicines and vaccines, health security, and emergency preparedness and response.
The BRICS Health sector contributes to global health governance by fostering policy coordination, sharing best practices, supporting health innovation, and enhancing the collective capacity of member states to achieve the health-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
