BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) refers to the strategic cooperation framework among the BRICS countries aimed at advancing joint research, technological development, and innovation-driven growth to address common challenges and enhance sustainable development.

Guided by the BRICS Ministerial Meeting on Science, Technology and Innovation and supported by working groups, research institutions, innovation platforms, and mechanisms such as the BRICS STI Framework Programme, this sector promotes collaboration in priority areas including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, clean energy, space research, nanotechnology, climate science, digital transformation, and technology transfer.

The STI sector also supports capacity building, youth engagement, and innovation-led entrepreneurship through initiatives such as the BRICS Young Scientist Forum, fostering long-term partnerships among academic, public, and private sector actors.

The BRICS Science, Technology and Innovation sector is central to building knowledge-based economies, strengthening technological sovereignty, and contributing to inclusive, sustainable, and future-ready development across BRICS nations.
