The BRICS Security Cluster refers to the framework of cooperation among the BRICS countries focused on promoting peace, security, and strategic stability through dialogue, coordination, and mutual support on key regional and global security issues.
This collaboration is primarily led by the BRICS National Security Advisors’ Meeting and is supported by working groups and diplomatic channels that address a wide range of traditional and non-traditional security concerns, including counter-terrorism, cyber security, transnational organised crime, border management, peacekeeping, and emerging threats such as biosecurity and information warfare.
The Security Cluster also contributes to global governance reform by advocating for a more democratic, representative, and multipolar international security architecture rooted in international law, the UN Charter, and respect for sovereignty and non-interference.
The BRICS Security Cluster enhances strategic trust among member states, strengthens collective resilience to shared threats, and promotes a stable and secure global environment conducive to sustainable development and cooperation.
