The BRICS and G20 are important plurilateral groupings that aim to build consensus on overlapping areas of cooperation. Such efforts have the potential to deliver progress towards many development challenges. One of the common themes for the BRICS and G20 this year is the outreach to Africa and the Global South.
How can we ensure that the BRICS and G20 don’t lose sight of the broader development agenda in times of geopolitical crisis? How can African countries be engaged in a more substantive manner by these groupings? As South Africa enters the G20 Troika at the end of this year, how can South Africa and India work together to ensure continuity in mutual priority areas?
